Skin cancer treatment
Your GP may refer you to Patrick if you have one or more suspicious looking skin lesions. If the problem is relatively simple it can usually be removed immediately under local anaesthetic. If the size or location make treatment more complex, you may require a general anaesthetic for the procedure. Patrick treats the following skin cancer types frequently: basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), melanoma and sarcoma.
Scar revision
If your scar is caused by trauma, scar revision treatment is usually covered by ACC. During your consultation, Patrick will assess your scar and recommend the right treatment, which can range from conservative to surgical treatment options.
Complex reconstruction surgery
In his role as consultant surgeon at Dunedin Hospital, Southern District Health Board, Patrick gets called upon frequently to perform complex reconstruction surgeries in collaboration with other surgical teams.
